The Project
This Berkshire house, located in a beautiful setting had great potential for redevelopment. The layout of the existing house was altered and refurbished providing additional accommodation for 5 bedrooms and five en-suites. the master bedroom to the north, with stunning views of the rolling countryside was redesigned with a Juliet balcony allowing our clients to take full advantage of the view in the warmer months.
The Design Process
The ground floor plan was redesigned to include a large kitchen, utility, wine cellar, larder, living room, WC, dining room, drawing room and games room.
In addition, a new extension was constructed to house a number of health and fitness facilities including an indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna, shower room, toilet, steam room and hot tub. To make the most of the pool area, folding glass doors were installed which can be opened in the summer, allowing access out onto a garden patio area. This design works especially well when entertaining.
A number of external alterations were also made to the house; including repositioning the front entrance, replacing the existing windows, re-tiling the roof, adding a new integral garage and altering the drive.
