This small but beautifully formed apartment close to Hyde Park, Knightsbridge involved the complete refurbishment and redesign of a 2-bedroom apartment for an established developer.
The Design Response
As well as the main architectural package, RBD designed and detailed an extensive range of custom fitted joinery to help create this stylish and opulent, extremely desirable apartment that can be seen today.
The joinery throughout the apartment has a highly polished polyester lacquer finish which can only be successfully achieved by the most experienced joinery companies.
To achieve this finish, the wood has to be prepared, treated and polished many times, involving considerable man hours. Care must also be taken to deliver and install each item as any damage on site is almost impossible to repair.
In contrast to the joinery, RBD designed and specified a mix of Crema Marfil and Emperador marble finishes and details in the apartment, such as bespoke skirting, perimeter floor details and book matched marble slabwork throughout the ensuites.

We are still early in the construction phase but we’re very pleased with the excellent design and advice we’ve received from Andy Willis so far.
